    McKenzie River

The McKenzie River is my homewater. Flowing 90 miles from its headwaters in the Cascades to its confluence with the Willamette the McKenzie remains cold year round. Home to Rainbow Trout known locally as Redsides and Cutthroat Trout in its lower reaches, McKenzie fish average about 12 inches. The Season Runs from February during a dry year, to October/November. Guided fly fishing from a drift boat is pure pleasure. We fish from a McKenzie River style drift boat, made to get you where the fish are. Early in the season we fish close to town for mainly wild fish, hoping for a dry fly sipping native to make a mistake. During July and August we are in the middle reaches fishing for a mix of wild and hatchery trout bouncing through the whitewater from spot to spot. Managed for both wild and hatchery trout, the McKenzie has something for everyone. Guided fishing is for experts and beginners alike. Don’t let inexperience keep you from enjoying what the McKenzie River has to offer.

    The Willamette

The Willamette is our river of choice when it comes to steelhead. Guided fly fishing on the Willamette is a swing steelheaders dream. Summer run fish show up in May/June and hang around through the Fall. We swing these fish with two handed spey rods, using the driftboat as transportation between runs. I know if the fish are around and am honest about our chances. We can combine trout and steelhead in the same day if desired.
