This is my favorite fishery. It’s hard. Conditions, run timing, run size, the moon and stars, everything has got to line up. When it does, its magic. This isn’t for the faint of heart, you can go days without a grab, there are no guarantees. What I can guarantee is that we will swing flies in beautiful wild places with the chance for the fish of a lifetime.  No we are not going to use the bobber rod between runs.   Want to catch one on the swing?  Swing flies.  The season runs from January through March.  Cancellations due to weather are common, if coming from out of state I recommend trip insurance for lodging etc.   If I have to cancel due to conditions you will get your deposit back. I’ve been enamored with these fish for 20 years.  We are fishing two-handed rods on Oregon’s Coast. We have multiple systems to choose from.  In general we will use a raft or drift boat between runs, stepping out of the boat to wade and fish the run, back in the boat and on to the next spot.  Waders are a must, if you don’t have your own I can connect you with a rental pair.  Quality gear makes for an enjoyable day on the water.   Experience with a two handed spey or switch rod is recommended but not required.  Patient casting instruction is part of our day, how much of our day depends on the anglers experience level.  I have quality rods and reels setup with appropriate lines and tips for the water we will fish. We will meet at daylight and fish until dark.  These are full day trips only, lunch is provided.
